Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
Butterfly Effect is committed to making butterflyeffect.xyz usable for as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We want everyone to be able to read our work, follow our thinking, and get in touch with us without barriers.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines are the recognised international standard for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of needs, including visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive differences.
What we do
Across the site we work to:
- Use clear, plain language and a consistent structure
- Maintain strong colour contrast between text and its background
- Support keyboard navigation, so the site can be used without a mouse
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images
- Respect the “reduced motion” setting for anyone who prefers less movement on screen
- Design layouts that adapt to phones, tablets, and desktops
Known limitations
Some parts of the site rely on motion, video, and embedded third-party content (for example YouTube). We work to keep these usable, but embedded content is partly outside our control and may not always meet the same standard. If you come across anything that is hard to use, please tell us.
Feedback
If you have trouble using any part of this site, or you need information in a different format, we want to hear from you. Email us at ops@butterflyeffect.xyz and we will do our best to help and to put the problem right.
Enforcement
If you contact us about an accessibility problem and you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), which enforces the accessibility regulations in the UK.
Questions about this? We are happy to talk it through.
